Wilhelm Automotive has teamed up with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as a proud sponsor of their upcoming West Valley Light the Night walk. The Light the Night walk takes place on Friday, October 12th at Sahuaro Ranch Park in Glendale at 7:00pm.
“We are very proud to be a sponsor of this great event”, said Thom Gyder, President of Wilhelm Automotive. Community support comes naturally to all of our employees and being involved with the local Leukemia and Lymphoma Society chapter and the Light the Night event was a great fit. We know that cancer has an affect on everyone in some way and we want to do what we can to help find a cure for this disease.
The Light the Night walk is a 2 mile annual evening walk that commemorates those whose lives have been touched by blood cancers; survivors carry illuminated white balloons, while friends and supporters carry red ones as a symbol of hope for a cure. The event is family oriented with food, entertainment and fun. In 2006, the West Valley walk had 68 teams and over 1000 participants.
Money raised through this program benefit Arizonans through the Society’s patient service program, local researchers and local support groups. In 2006, over $100,000 was raised from this event.
How can you help? You can stop by any of our five Wilhelm Automotive locations (Litchfield Park, Goodyear, Peoria, Surprise and Tatum Ranch) and pick up a registration form. Then complete the registration and join us on the 12th for an evening of fun and great personal reward. So, start your own team, raise money and join the celebration.
